
Regina Antoinette Carter, born in November 1987, is a lifelong resident of the Morris Houses in the South Bronx and a proud mother of three. She currently serves as a Community Associate within NYCHA’s Family Partnerships Department.
show moreRegina is the President of the Morris Houses Resident Association, representing 17 buildings, more than 1,900 units, and approximately 5,000 residents. Her leadership also extends to her role as the Founder and Director of Repurposed Life Incorporated, a tax-exempt nonprofit organization dedicated to collecting gently used furniture, housewares, clothing, and appliances from hotels, schools, stores, and other businesses, and redistributing them to individuals and families in need.
In the past year alone, Repurposed Life diverted more than 75,000 pounds of furniture and household goods from landfills, providing essential items to NYCHA residents and communities across New York City. The organization is on track to triple that impact this year.
Regina’s dedication to community empowerment and environmental sustainability has earned her numerous honors, including the 2024 Woman of Distinction Award from the 32nd Senate District, along with multiple citations from city, state, and federal agencies recognizing her exceptional volunteer service.
