The National Congress of Neighborhood Women (NCNW) is taking a lead role in connecting local environmental justice efforts in North Brooklyn to national and global advocacy networks. Building on relationships initiated at the United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF), NCNW is collaborating with the Commission on Voluntary Service and Action (CVSA) and the Silver Valley Community Resource Center to exchange strategies and strengthen collective action around Superfund sites and community health.
With two Superfund sites in North Brooklyn, NCNW is uniquely positioned to elevate local concerns to national forums and support cross-regional collaboration. These partnerships aim to:
- Share community-based solutions to long-standing environmental health issues
- Amplify the voices of women leaders working on the front lines of environmental justice
- Explore the application of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to local and regional environmental policy
- Build a broader network of grassroots-led environmental advocacy
NCNW continues to bridge local realities and global frameworks, ensuring that the leadership of women in impacted communities shapes the path forward.
