NCNW International Committee
The International Committee of the National Congress of Neighborhood Women (NW) plays a vital role in ensuring that the experiences, priorities, and leadership of grassroots and community women are represented in global decision-making spaces. NCNW holds General Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, allowing us to participate broadly in ECOSOC deliberations and processes.
Members of this committee represent NW at major international forums like the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF), the World Urban Forum (WUF), and Habitat-related convenings. They bring with them the voices of neighborhood women leaders and advocate for policies that reflect real, lived experiences. Applying the concept of “don’t tell me what you think I need, let me tell you what I need” members of this committee elevate the voices of community-based women in the effort to impact policy and development decisions at the local, state, national and global levels.
Through educational outreach, hosting global visitors, and building partnerships across borders, the committee helps ground global policy in community-driven solutions.
Together, this committee ensures that grassroots and community-based women don’t just respond to global change—they help define it.
